INSPIRE

In an effort to make sense out of this blogging experience. I have determined that the umbrella of this free flow of world of thought should be housed under the word inspire.

Over the past several years, I slowly began to understand the word Inspire. I feel it is written on my heart. I find it is the one word that could explain the source of how I function.

Simply stated. Inspiration motivates me. It picks me up. I learn best when I'm inspired about a subject. I am passionated about something when it inspires me.

Webster's defines it as : to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration. Inspiration is defined as a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation.

I know for many years, I defined who I was based on the creative spark that flows through my veins. But now I merely recognize the creative gift in my life that is designed to be a tool in order to inspire others.

My greatest inspiration comes from the ultimate Creator. One of my favorite descriptions of His creativity is shown Psalms 33:6 "The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born." How great would it be to say a word and -BAM!- it appears.

Light itself to me has been a source of inspiration. Light was the first part that God created in the universe. I truly desire to be a light in the midst of darkness.

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

7th Year Anniversary

It all started off with a poem. I cannot believe that it has been seven years when it feels about three maybe four, but it has whisked past us.

In the beginning, it is all about the fire and passion and then you go through a few storms and realize that the concrete of your relationship may not be as exciting, but it is something that holds you together. Then you move to building your house together and you discover that some moments are sweeter than the fire that burned early in your relationship. Then you reach a place where deep calls unto deep and you discover a deep water in your relationship that carries weight and moves your heart. Above all, I understand the statement, "I love my husband more than when I first married him". That is so true.

Now that we have a lovely, darling baby girl. Prior to Isabella coming on the scene, dates were good. But now I cherish all my times alone with my husband. We had our first three nights away from our 19 month old daughter. It was refreshing, exciting and liberating. I did miss her dearly and she seemed to have changed upon my return. However, we needed this trip.

We spent it at Friday Harbor in a private home on the south side of the island on the water. It was spectacular to enjoy the wildlife from the grazing deer, soaring eagle, rascally raccoon and energetic hummingbirds. The first day, we celebrated our 7th anniversary at a little restaurant called Vinnie's. Parker tasted his first creme brulee since he went on a mandatory diet from his doctor. The second day, we did everything from shopping, visiting a vineyard, driving about the island, hiking to a light house and watching Tiger win the open. The third day, we did nothing. We were in our pajamas until five. We puttered around the house, read books, prayed, talked and ate Ezekiel bread for the first time. Then had a leisurely dinner at Downriggers. It was delightful to stay up late and sleep in late. On our final day, we packed up and headed out. As we waited for the ferry, I sipped lavender chamomile tea with lavender banana bread. A nice treat to end a wonderful anniversary.
